Avocado prices in China surpass 2024 levels for the first time since week 26

The Chinese market closed week 37 with the arrival of 26 containers of avocados. This figure represents a 24% decrease compared to the previous week and is 10% below the volume recorded in the same period of 2024.

The origin composition remains with Peru as the main supplier, accounting for 92% of shipments. Chile, for its part, contributed 8% with two containers, a figure similar to the previous week. Increased flow from Chile is anticipated in the coming weeks, while Peru will continue its gradual withdrawal from the market.

In terms of prices, the behavior was the opposite of that of volumes. Sizes 18 to 24 saw an increase of over 50% compared to the previous week, generating an upward trend reminiscent of the patterns observed in 2022 and 2023. In contrast, 2024 showed a flatter scenario during this same period.

The current price is 6% higher than that recorded in 2024 and, for the first time since week 26, is above last year's values.
