Prices are rising for all sizes in the United States

The report for week 45 indicated that, at the close of week 44, there was a lower volume of avocado imports in the United States. Between shipments and trucks, there were 1,238 arrivals, which is equivalent to 10% less than the previous week.

The unusual aspect is that this marks the third consecutive week of declines in total volume. Up until week 41, volume was very high, but imports have been steadily decreasing since then.

In this case, Mexico shows a 12% reduction in its shipments, a number that is very influential, considering that it is responsible for 95% of the fruit present in the market.

In fact, imports from Chile grew by 25%, but its market share is 1.7%; similar to that of Colombia, which remains in third place, followed further down by avocados from the Dominican Republic.

In the United States, prices rose for all sizes. The most significant increase was for both large and small avocados. Size 48 avocados increased by 21%, and size 70 by 16%.
