Peru registers the highest weekly volume so far this year and surpasses the 2024 peak

The Peruvian avocado campaign reached a new milestone at the close of week 19, registering a volume of 1,191 shipments. This number marks the highest weekly export level so far in 2025 and exceeds the previous week's volume by 3%. But what is most significant is that, compared to the same period last year, the increase is staggering: 91% more.

Peru has not only maintained an upward trend during the last few weeks, but has now managed to surpass, albeit slightly, the weekly high recorded throughout the past season, which occurred in week 25.

Now it remains to be seen whether this figure represents the highest point of the year or if it is a further step towards a new peak; what is certain is that the trend reaffirms the leading role of the Andean country in the global market.

In terms of destinations, Europe remains the main recipient of Peruvian avocados, with a 58% share. It is followed by the United States with 17%, Asia with 14%, Chile with 8%, and other markets with smaller percentages.

However, this week saw a slight decrease in shipments to Europe, although this did not prevent total exports from increasing. This growth was due to higher shipments to other destinations such as Asia, Chile, and the United States, which offset the decline in European exports.
