Peru reduces shipments but maintains its dominance in Europe

Peru shipped a total of 498 containers of Hass avocados, down from nearly 500, representing a 23% decrease compared to the previous week. Despite this decline, the volume remains well above the level reached during the same week last year, confirming the strength of the Peruvian campaign in the final stretch of the season.

Of the total shipments, 89% were destined for Europe, while the United States received 4%, Chile 3%, and Asia another 4%. With these figures, the country continues to consistently supply approximately three-quarters of the European market. However, the gradual decline in shipments suggests that other origins will begin to take their place in just a few weeks, with Chile emerging as the most immediate candidate.

In the campaign's balance, Europe consolidates its position as the main destination for Peruvian fruit with 62% of the total accumulated, followed at a distance by the United States with 15%.
