Peru increases its weekly shipments to 698 containers and surpasses the 2024 volume for the first time

Peru has once again set a new milestone in its 2025 campaign, closing week 14 with approximately 698 avocado shipments, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous week. For the first time this season, the Andean nation has surpassed the volumes recorded during the same week in 2024, achieving 19% more fruit exported compared to last year.

This increase not only reflects an acceleration in the harvest, but also a market dynamic that is beginning to take off after weeks of logistical adjustments and irregular weather conditions.

Regarding the distribution of destinations, Europe remains the priority market, absorbing 71% of total exports. Asia accounts for 11%, followed by the United States and Chile, both with 7%. This pattern reflects both the commercial strategy of Peruvian exporters and the opportunities offered by each region at this stage of the season.

However, the upward trend in volume may not be sustained. Producers and exporters agree that climatic factors—such as those mentioned above by industry stakeholders—could cause temporary drops in fruit availability. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether this positive trend continues or if any setbacks arise.

For now, Peru breaks the symbolic barrier of 700 weekly shipments and positions itself as a strong player at the start of the 2025 global campaign.
