Peru consolidates its position as Europe's main supplier, despite remaining below last year's volume.

Peru ended week 11 with 385 containers of avocados exported, representing a 15% increase compared to the previous week. Despite this upward trend, the volume is still 34% lower than the amount exported during the same week last year.

The majority of Peruvian exports—77%—are destined for the European market, thus consolidating its role as the main supplier in the coming weeks. The remaining shipments are distributed among Asia (9%), Chile (6%), the United States (4%), and other destinations (4%).

Looking at the evolution of market share in Europe, Peru had 16% of the market in week 11, while in week 12 its presence grew rapidly to reach 26%.

This acceleration in the arrival of Peruvian fruit marks a turning point, although it remains to be seen when the volume exported during the same period last year will be equaled or surpassed. For now, growth is steady, but the year-on-year gap has not yet closed.
