Avocado shipments to China fell sharply in week 15; a rebound is projected for the following week.

Week 15 ended with a sharp drop in avocado shipments to China, with only 16 containers registered, representing a decrease of nearly 80% compared to the previous week. However, this decline should not necessarily be interpreted as a cause for alarm.

Everything indicates that this is a logistical discrepancy, likely caused by a change in shipping frequency. In fact, it is estimated that around 104 containers could arrive by week 16, which would compensate for the volume not recorded this week.

Regarding the market, a significant drop in prices is observed for sizes ranging from 18 to 24. This decrease could be related to the expectation of the largest volume arriving next week, which puts anticipatory pressure on market values.
