Europe receives 1,084 containers and consolidates three consecutive weeks of increase

The European avocado market continues its upward trend: in week 16, 1,084 containers entered the continent, representing a 5% increase compared to the previous week and 13% more than in the same period last year. This marks the third consecutive week of growth, consolidating a sustained recovery from the 750 containers recorded in week 13.

Peru continues to lead with 46% of the volume, exceeding 500 weekly shipments and consolidating its position as the continent's main supplier. South Africa follows with 17%, experiencing one of the week's biggest surges with a 63% increase in shipments compared to the previous period, coinciding with its typical seasonal increase. Spain contributes 12%, Israel 8%, Brazil 7%, Kenya 5%, while Colombia accounts for 4%. In contrast, Chile has practically withdrawn from the European market, with fewer than 10 containers registered.

Regarding prices, the Spanish market remains stable compared to the previous week, reflecting relative calm in local supply and demand. However, slight increases are observed in Rotterdam, especially in medium sizes: size 18 rose by 7%, while other intermediate sizes also saw increases of between 4% and 7%. Small sizes, meanwhile, remained constant in this key market in Northern Europe.
