Europe receives 1,025 containers of avocados, a 46% increase compared to the same week in 2024

The European avocado market showed strong growth this week with the arrival of 1,025 containers to the continent. This figure represents a 15% increase compared to the previous week and is 46% higher than the volume recorded during the same week in 2024, consolidating an upward trend in arrivals.

The distribution by origin shows the predominance of Peru, which contributed 72% of the total. Colombia and the Kenya-Tanzania bloc each accounted for 11%, while South Africa contributed 4%, and Chile began to gain ground with 2%. Chilean participation reached 25 containers during the week, a still limited volume but one that marks progressive growth week after week.

Peru's rebound was also noticeable, with higher volumes than the previous week. Meanwhile, prices showed contrasting behavior in the main European markets.

In Rotterdam, there was a significant jump in prices for smaller sizes, which even surpassed those of larger sizes, for both Peruvian and Colombian fruit. In Spain, however, the increases were concentrated in larger sizes, while smaller sizes remained at a lower level.
