Avocado shipments to China grow by 52% while Chile maintains minimal presence

The Chinese market continues to show an upward trend in week 13, with a total of 79 containers entering the country, representing a 52% increase over the previous week and an impressive 172% above the volume recorded in the same period of 2024.

Market dominance remains in the hands of a single origin, with between 90% and 95% of shipments coming from Peru, while Chile maintains a residual share of 4%. This distribution has been consistent since weeks 8-9, consolidating Peru's leadership in this destination.

Regarding prices, a significant increase is observed in sizes 18 to 24, with a 21% rise compared to the previous week and 43% above last year's levels. It is unusual for both volume and prices to be increasing simultaneously in the Chinese market.
