China maintains stability in the volume of Peruvian avocados while prices

The Chinese avocado market closed week 22 with stable import volume. A total of 106 containers were registered from Peru, virtually the same as the previous week, with only one additional container. This figure is even more significant when compared to the same period last year: it represents a 74% increase, demonstrating the sustained growth of Peruvian avocados in the Asian market.

In terms of prices, the trend shows interesting nuances. While current values for the 2025 season are still below those recorded in 2024, in recent weeks they have surpassed 2023 levels, indicating a partial recovery in market behavior.

Specifically, the average price is 19% lower than the same period last year, but shows a slight increase of 4% compared to last week. This positive, albeit moderate, movement suggests some reactivation of demand or adjustments in the supply available in the Chinese market.

In summary, the presence of Peruvian avocados in China continues to grow strongly year-on-year, and although prices have not yet reached last year's levels, recent trends show signs of gradual recovery. The market remains attentive to upcoming supply and demand movements, which could define the performance for the rest of the season.
