Calavo Growers strengthens the promotion of Mexican avocados with a multi-million dollar investment in APEAM

The US company allocated $4.3 million in 2024 to boost consumption of the fruit in the US, strengthening its position as a strategic ally of the Mexican export sector.

Calavo Growers, one of the leading avocado distributors in the United States, allocated $4.3 million this year to the Association of Avocado Producers and Exporters of Mexico (APEAM). This contribution is part of a coordinated strategy to maintain the leading position of Mexican avocados in the U.S. market, which accounts for 38% of global trade in the fruit and where Mexico represents 88% of imports.

Calavo's investment isn't limited to APEAM: it has also channeled $2 million to the California Avocado Commission and $5.6 million to the USDA Hass Avocado Board, strengthening campaigns that promote consumption nationwide, especially around key dates like the Super Bowl. These actions aim not only to maintain consumer preference but also to increase the profitability of the entire avocado production chain.

Through these contributions, Calavo actively participates in marketing initiatives, digital advertising, retail promotions, and a presence at high-impact events, consolidating itself as a central player in positioning Mexican avocados in the U.S. Far from being just a distributor, the company acts as a strategic promoter that drives the sector's sustained growth and international competitiveness.
