APEAM promotes institutional change: the producer sector will assume the presidency of the Board of Directors.

Uruapan, Michoacán, June 18, 2023. – In an exercise of democratic representation and unity, APEAM, AC (Association of Avocado Producers and Exporters of Mexico) held its General Assembly of Delegates, in which the new Board of Directors was elected to lead the organization during the period 2025–2027.

In accordance with the association's statutes, the election process was carried out by voting among delegates from both sectors (producer and packer), thus ensuring balanced participation within APEAM's organizational structure.

On this occasion, and in accordance with the principle of rotation, the presidency of the Board of Directors will be assumed by a representative from the production sector. The new Board of Directors will take office on July 1, 2025, and will be composed of the following members:

President: Raúl Ernesto Martínez Pulido.

Vice President: José Antonio Villaseñor Zurita.

Secretary: Heriberto García Rojas.

Treasurer: Jaime Alfonso Rivas Campbell.

Member 1 (producer sector): Juan Pablo Chávez Sandoval.

Vocal 1 (packing sector): Sergio Edwardo Chávez Ochoa.

Vocal 2 (producer sector): Julio Macías Armas.

Vocal 2 (packing sector): Miguel Melgoza Radillo.

Also, the appointment of the new members of the Board of Honor and Justice was carried out, which was made up of Fernando Torres Reglado, representing the producers, and David Ruiz Vega, representing the packers.

This institutional change reinforces APEAM's ongoing commitment to strengthening internal governance, the sustainability of the avocado sector, and the fair representation of all its members, in order to continue consolidating the Mexican avocado as a symbol of quality, social responsibility, and international leadership.
