Fruit Attraction São Paulo and its impact on the avocado business
The fair consolidated Latin America as the hub of the avocado business and anticipates its continuation at Fruit Attraction Madrid, from September 30 to October 2, with a focus on innovation, logistics and sustainability.
Fruit Attraction São Paulo 2026 concluded its third edition, solidifying its position as the leading fruit and vegetable trade fair in the Southern Hemisphere, in a context where the global avocado market continues to gain prominence within export offerings. With over 18,400 visitors from 60 countries, 450 exhibiting brands, and more than 1,000 B2B meetings—generating business opportunities estimated at €270 million—the event reaffirmed its role as a strategic platform for business development and international positioning.
For three days, São Paulo brought together key players in the production chain in a space where, in addition to showcasing Brazil's diverse fruit and vegetable offerings—from traditional fruits like mango, citrus, and grapes to more exotic species from the Cerrado—the avocado solidified its position as one of the products with the greatest potential in international trade. The participation of countries such as Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Uruguay reinforced this position, demonstrating a growing regional collaboration around the export of fresh fruit, and particularly avocados, to international markets.
In this context, one of the most significant outcomes of the meeting was the strengthening of Latin America as a strategic bloc within the global avocado business. The coordinated presence of diverse origins and direct interaction with international buyers solidified the region not only as a key supplier but also as an increasingly integrated commercial space, where competition coexists with new opportunities for collaboration.

Another aspect that shaped the event's dynamics was the evolution of demand. The B2B meetings—with high participation from importers—demonstrated a growing interest in higher value-added products, beyond fresh fruit. In this context, categories such as pulps, oils, and processed solutions are beginning to open new avenues for avocado development, expanding its potential within the value chain.
Adding to this trend is the role of gastronomy as a driver of positioning. The Cooking Show, developed with the support of São Paulo Negócios and the Prefeitura de São Paulo, highlighted the versatility of Brazilian fruits and vegetables through live experiences with chefs and specialists, a space where avocados also find opportunities to strengthen their presence in new consumption occasions.
The event's growth was also reflected in its long-term projections. The renewal of the agreement between the organizers guarantees that Fruit Attraction São Paulo will continue until 2033, consolidating its role as a global platform for visibility and business generation for the sector.
This scenario paves the way for the next major event on the international calendar: Fruit Attraction Madrid 2026, which will take place between September 30 and October 2. This edition will focus on the evolution of consumption in Europe, logistical efficiency, innovation in fresh and processed products, and new sustainability demands—topics that will be crucial for the development of the avocado market in the coming season. It will be an event where the trends observed in São Paulo will find continuity and a new level of analysis.
