Analysis of Chilean exports

Chilean avocado exports grow in 2025-2026

Europe, Latin America and Asia increase their imports from Chile, while the US registers a sharp drop in the 2025-2026 season.

Avobook's data team's analysis of the estimated end of the 2025-2026 Chilean avocado export season is nearing completion, with clear signs of a global supply redistribution. The team's data reveals a shift in the behavior of key destination markets, showing increased activity in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, along with a significant decline in the United States.

At the regional level, the data reflects a sustained increase in shipments to three key destinations. Europe leads this growth with more than 600 additional shipments compared to the 2024/2025 season. Meanwhile, Latin America registers an increase of nearly 400 shipments, while Asia adds more than 160 additional shipments compared to the previous cycle, consolidating its share within Chile's export mix.

In contrast, the United States shows the largest contraction of the season. While the 2024/2025 season saw approximately 532 shipments from Chile, this season the figure has dropped to just 193 arrivals, marking a significant decline in the volume sent to that market.

Month-by-month analysis allows for a more precise understanding of the campaign's evolution. The 2025-2026 season began at a slower pace than the previous one, particularly in August, when volumes were lower than in the same period of the previous cycle. However, this trend reversed in September, when shipments exceeded the records of the 2024/2025 season.

The peak of the season is reached in October, when monthly shipments exceed 2,000, marking the campaign's high point. This volume contrasts sharply with the just under 1,400 shipments recorded in October of the previous season, demonstrating a significant difference in performance during that period.

After this peak, shipments remained at levels similar to those observed in the previous season. However, towards the end of the season, a positive difference emerged: in February, export volumes for the 2025-2026 season once again exceeded those recorded in the same month of the previous cycle.

Overall, the end-of-season estimate shows a campaign that, despite a slower start, managed to consolidate higher volumes at key moments and redefine its export destinations. Growth in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, along with a decline in the United States, has created a new balance in the Chilean avocado export landscape.
