The harvest is slowing down: the 26,000 tons target will not be reached.
Mexico
October 28, 2026
Last week Mexico harvested 26,713 tons and 28,912 were exported, with a utilization of 111%, which indicates that all the inventory that was in cold storage was moved.
This week we've encountered a serious problem: a strike by producers protesting the current pricing. While they're not the majority, the boards haven't been able to ship any cuts of meat in the state of Michoacán. We hope the issue will be resolved in the coming days; operations in Jalisco are proceeding normally.
The expected tonnage of cut was 26,000, which will not be achieved and will be a much smaller amount.
The available hectares for cutting are 39,567, 2% less than last week.
Hopefully the harvest issue will be resolved this week.
Have a great week everyone.
