Mexico dominates the US market with 97%, but prices are not rebounding.
Mexico
Last week 26,194 tons were harvested, of which 25,364 were exported to the United States market, with a utilization rate of 97%.
Virtually all of the week's inventory and harvest were gone.
Demand for Mexican fruit has increased this week, and a significant harvest of around 35,000 tons is expected. The harvest could be affected by the weather and any rainfall.
The number of hectares available this week is practically the same as last week: 42,000.
Mexico dominates the market with 97% of the supply, California 2% and Peru 1%.
Conditions are good, with a sufficient supply of fruit expected to continue through January. Prices remain very low, impacting producer returns.
Let's hope for an improvement in prices now that Mexico is the sole supplier.
Have a great week everyone.
