Seville will bring together the sector at the 1st World Avocado Oil Congress
From October 29 to 31, 2026, international experts will address the main challenges in quality, processing, sustainability and innovation in this industry.
The avocado oil industry will hold its first global meeting dedicated specifically to its manufacturers this year. The 1st World Avocado Oil Congress, organized by the Avocado Oil Manufacturers Association (AOMA) , will bring together various stakeholders in the value chain over three days in Seville, Spain.
The meeting was created to strengthen the scientific foundations of this industry and advance aspects such as transparency, quality standards, and international collaboration. To this end, it will feature the participation of more than 20 international experts, as well as representatives from processing, research, technology, and institutions linked to the sector.
When is the event?
The 1st World Avocado Oil Congress will be held between October 29 and 31, 2026, with a three-day program that will combine lectures, practical workshops and technical visits.
Where will it take place?
The activities will take place in Seville, Spain, mainly distributed between the Instituto de la Grasa and the Escuela Superior de Hostelería de Sevilla .
The first day will feature conferences and workshops at the Instituto de la Grasa (Institute of Fat), while the second day will continue with technical activities and an Extra Virgin Avocado Oil Forum at the Escuela Superior de Hostelería (Higher School of Hospitality). The third day will be dedicated to visits to facilities linked to the olive oil industry in Seville, used as a benchmark to learn about best practices in extraction efficiency and the circular economy.
Who is behind the organization?
The meeting is promoted by AOMA, an association focused on strengthening the global avocado oil industry through science, transparency, quality and international collaboration.
The call is aimed at avocado oil manufacturers and processors, researchers, academic institutions, technology and equipment providers, industry organizations, AOMA partners and emerging manufacturers.
Quality, technology and sustainability
The program will address different stages and challenges of the industry. Its main focuses include oil quality and authenticity; analytical methods and standards; processing efficiency and extraction technologies; fruit physiology and ripening; post-harvest handling and dry matter; by-product valorization; water and waste treatment; and storage and logistics.
New technologies applied to processing will also be addressed, including fruit sorting systems using artificial intelligence and alternatives to improve the energy efficiency of plants.

Registration is available through the official conference website . According to AOMA, participation is free for approved members of the association, in all categories. The main languages of the conference will be English and Spanish, with English as the primary language.
