Mexico strengthens its leadership in the US while Peru reduces shipments and Chile appears on the map

The US market closed week 40 with a solid flow of 1,585 container and truck arrivals. Although this figure represents a slight decrease of 3% compared to the previous week, it remains 29% above the volume recorded in the same period last year, confirming the continued strength of consumption in this market.

This week, Mexico reinforced its absolute leadership in the U.S. market, reaching an 89% share of total shipments. California ranked second with 6%, followed by Peru with 3%, and Chile, which began appearing in the statistics with a 1% share. In contrast, Peru's volume experienced a sharp drop of 54%, while Mexico and Colombia maintained stable levels compared to the previous week.

In terms of prices, the market showed stability and strength, with no declines in any of the calibers. On the contrary, average increases of 5% were recorded, especially in larger calibers, such as the 48, and also in the 84 caliber, corresponding to smaller sizes. According to analyst Antonio Yaseñor, the US market has maintained record weekly supply during July, August, and September, a trend that suggests consumption continues to expand.

Gary Clevenger noted that in California, most growers have already finished harvesting and are now focusing their efforts on orchard maintenance and preparing for next year's bloom. This process marks a transitional phase in local production, while the market continues to show signs of strength, driven by steady demand and stable prices.
