Jalisco Avocado Congress 2026 confirms program

The APEAJAL meeting will bring together global experts in Ciudad Guzmán to analyze markets, technology and productivity from August 26 to 28.

Focus on markets, technology and productivity

The meeting will bring together specialists from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, the United States, Spain, France and Chile in three days dedicated to the main challenges facing the global avocado industry.

The 10th Jalisco Avocado Congress 2026 has confirmed its official program and is preparing to welcome producers, exporters, researchers, technical advisors, and supplier companies from August 26-28 in Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco. Organized by APEAJAL , the event will combine technical conferences, field activities, market analysis, and networking opportunities, solidifying its position as one of the most important events for the avocado industry in Latin America.

Over three days, the program will address some of the main challenges currently facing the sector, from the evolution of international markets and sustainability to genetics, plant health, and new technologies applied to orchard management. In addition, attendees will be able to visit the trade exhibition area, participate in a field workshop, and network with companies and specialists from various countries.

Wednesday, August 26: International Stage

The opening session will focus heavily on analyzing the global avocado market. Among the first presentations, the one by Arturo Medina Castro , general manager of ProHass Peru , stands out; he will analyze the current state of Peruvian exports.

The day will continue with presentations dedicated to genetic diversity, genomic resources, crop diseases, and a key update on the North American market by Emiliano Escobedo , representative of the Hass Avocado Board .

Thursday, August 27: Productive and Agronomic Management

This workshop will focus primarily on practical application and efficiency in the orchard. It includes a field session organized directly by APEAJAL and a series of technical lectures on topics such as laurel wilt and plant health, flowering, pollination and fruit set processes, advanced nutrient solutions, and control of the branch borer.

Friday, August 28: Trends and Competitiveness

The closing session of the congress will once again focus on international trade. Álvaro Luque , CEO of Avocados From Mexico , will analyze the prospects for the US market for Mexico and Jalisco, whileGiovanni Cavaletto , of Grupo Los Cerritos GLC USA , will address sustainability and competitive pressure in the American market.

The program will also include the experience of the Colombian Hass avocado in international markets, presented by Manuel Michel , in addition to a lecture on intelligent pruning by the distinguished Chilean academic Ricardo Oscar Cautín Morales, from the Catholic University of Valparaíso .

Technology and exchange to meet industry challenges

Under the motto "Technology for the Present and Future," this tenth edition will bring together international experts to share experiences and solutions aimed at improving the sector's competitiveness. The program integrates content on innovation, agronomic management, genetics, plant health, productivity, and market trends, reflecting the growing need to combine technical knowledge with a strategic understanding of international markets.

In addition to the academic program, the congress will feature a large trade exhibition, networking spaces, and activities specially designed to strengthen collaboration between producers, exporters, researchers, and supplier companies throughout the avocado value chain.
