Trujillo once again became a meeting point for the Peruvian Hass avocado industry this week with the realization of CIPALTO 2026 , which on September 10 and 11 brought together specialists, producers, researchers and companies linked to different stages of the chain.
The fifth edition of the International Hass Avocado Congress in Peru was held at the Costa del Sol Wyndham Hotel under the theme "Biologicals and Post-Harvest", combining content related to agronomic management, climate, nutrition, irrigation, microbiology, fruit quality, logistics and marketing.
Two days to address the challenges of cultivation
The first day focused part of its agenda on the production conditions facing the sector. The program included an analysis of the agro-climatic outlook for the 2026-2027 growing season on the northern coast of Peru and the physiological changes associated with climatic events, before moving on to topics related to soil microbiology, biofertilization, regenerative agriculture, and the use of microorganisms.
The second day broadened the discussion to include nutrition, stress mitigation, and export quality, incorporating topics such as irrigation efficiency, cadmium management, plant physiology, and strategies to preserve the condition of the fruit during its journey to international markets.
The conference brought together specialists from Peru, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Venezuela, in an agenda that sought to connect the challenges observed in the field with the demands faced by Hass avocados during post-harvest and marketing.
Market and competitiveness also came into the conversation
In addition to the technical program, CIPALTO 2026 incorporated the panel “Challenges of the present and future of Peruvian avocados for the domestic and international market”, designed to analyze matters related to markets, exports, certifications and international logistics.
The event included the participation of Omar Díaz Marchena, general manager of Westfalia Fruit Peru; Sebastián de la Cuadra Infante, CEO of Avobook; Orlando Dolores Salas, from SENASA Peru; and Sara Álvarez Colan, logistics and post-harvest specialist.

The incorporation of this commercial perspective complements a predominantly productive agenda at a time when the competitiveness of Peruvian avocados depends not only on the results obtained in the field, but also on factors related to quality, condition upon arrival and the ability to respond to the demands of destination markets.
Avobook participates as a Media Partner

Avobook was part of CIPALTO 2026 as a Media Partner, supporting the fifth edition of the event and its agenda of technical and commercial exchange for the industry.
The participation of Sebastián de la Cuadra, CEO of Avobook, in the panel dedicated to the present and future of Peruvian avocados also incorporated a market perspective into a conversation that brought together representatives from different areas of the supply chain. Avobook's status as a Media Partner is indicated both in the official pre-event information and in the records obtained during the meeting.
