Peru's share of European exports falls to 71%, the lowest level in several weeks

At the close of week 34, Peru registered a total of 941 avocado shipments, representing a 13% decrease compared to the previous week. Despite this adjustment, the volume remains well above that recorded during the same period in 2014, reflecting the strength of the current season.

The distribution of destinations shows the predominance of Europe, which accounted for 70% of shipments. The United States received 13%, while Chile and Asia shared 10% and 7%, respectively. However, analysts project that both Chile and Asia will begin to reduce their share in the coming weeks, which will contribute to a general decline in volumes as the Peruvian season winds down.

By week 35, Peru's presence in the European market had reached 71%, a share that breaks with the previous trend. Traditionally, when volumes are high, Peru's share remains close to 80%.
