Fluctuations in China and Chilean exports decrease, but exceed 2023 figures

The Chinese market continues to fluctuate week by week. At the close of week 49, 22 containers were reported imported, representing a 37% decrease compared to week 48. Chile remains the leading supplier of avocados, with an 82% market share, while Peru contributes the remaining 18%. Peru continues to ship regularly to China after withdrawing from the US and European markets.

Chile ended week 48 with a total of 219 containers shipped globally, representing a 23% decrease compared to the previous week. As usual, Europe remained the main destination, accounting for 59% of exports, followed by Latin America with 23% and Asia with 18%.

Since week 43, weekly shipments have consistently exceeded the volumes recorded in the past season, and this week is no exception: in week 48 of 2023, a total of 148 shipments were reported.
