Peruvian exports fall for the fifth consecutive week, but remain above last year's levels.
Peruvian avocado exports totaled 932 shipments during week 32, representing a 6% decrease compared to the previous week. Despite this slight decline, the volume is 48% higher than that recorded during the same week last year, reflecting significant year-on-year growth.
In terms of destinations, Europe once again consolidated its position as the main recipient, accounting for 60% of total exports. It was followed by the United States with 16%, Chile with 12%, Asia with 9%, and other markets that together represented approximately 3%. This distribution remains consistent with the trend observed throughout the season, with no significant changes in the share of each region.
Particularly in Europe, Peru's presence has been crucial. The share of Peruvian fruit in that market has not fallen below 80% in recent weeks, despite the gradual decrease in shipments from the Andean country. This drop in volume began to be noticeable in week 27 and has continued steadily week after week.
