Chilean exports rebound with a 33% increase, and Europe once again consolidates its position as the main destination.

The end of week 48 saw a significant record for the Chilean avocado industry: a total of 280 exports left the country, marking a 33% increase compared to the previous week and 29% above the volume exported during the same period last year. In absolute terms, this represents approximately 70 additional containers shipped abroad, an increase that breaks the continuous decline that had been ongoing since week 41.

Europe accounted for the majority of shipments, absorbing 55% of the total. Latin America came in second with 23%, followed by Asia with 15%, while the United States received the remaining 8%. Although the distribution does not show drastic changes in the overall structure of destinations, some variations are particularly noteworthy: the United States received a slightly higher volume than usual, Asia remained at similar levels to previous weeks, and Europe registered a larger-than-expected increase.

In fact, shipments to Europe were projected to hover around or even fall below 100 containers this week, but ultimately 154 shipments were recorded. This surge not only exceeds expectations but also breaks the downward trend that the European market had been experiencing for several weeks.
