Europe increases its weekly avocado arrivals by 7%, exceeding last year's level by 18%.
Europe ended the week with approximately 642 avocado shipments, 7% more than the previous week and 18% higher than the same week last year. Supply was clearly led by Chile, which contributed 59% of the volume, followed by Colombia with 19% and Israel with 13%. Further behind were South Africa (5%), Mexico (2%), Morocco (2%), and Peru, which still holds a share of approximately 1%.
In terms of prices, Rotterdam showed a trend opposite to that observed in the United States: larger gauges rose sharply. Gauge 14 advanced 19%, gauge 20 gained 15%, and gauge 18 increased 10%. In the smaller size range, the adjustment was downward: gauge 30 fell 10% and gauge 32 dropped 7%.
By origin, weekly movements showed marked declines in Mexico and Peru, with drops of 50% and 36% respectively compared to the previous week. In contrast, Chile, South Africa, and Colombia reported increases compared to week 44, consolidating Chile as the engine of supply and Colombia as the second fastest-growing supplier.
