The governor of Michoacán guarantees the supply of avocados for the 2024 Super Bowl

Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, governor of Michoacán, stated that despite the low temperatures and snowfall in some areas of the state, avocado plantations have not been affected, thus ensuring exports for the 2024 Super Bowl. According to the governor, the frosts have been localized and have not caused widespread damage, concentrating mainly in mountainous areas.

In his first press conference of the year, Ramírez Bedolla acknowledged that the recent storms have caused losses, especially in the municipality of Tancítaro, where snow was reported. However, he assured that avocado production and exports have not been completely affected.

The president emphasized that avocado orchards, with their multiple annual flowering periods, allow for harvesting the fruit in different seasons, guaranteeing supply despite weather events. He also highlighted that Michoacán and Jalisco are the only states authorized to export avocados to the United States, Canada, Japan, and other markets.
