Colombian Hass avocados consolidate their export leadership with a growth of 46.6% in 2025

With more than 147,000 tons exported between January and September, the fruit ranks as the third best-selling fruit abroad, driven by sustainable practices and constant production throughout the year.

Hass avocados continue to gain ground as one of Colombia's leading agricultural ambassadors. According to data from the SICEX platform, exports reached 14,611 tons in September, 32.9% more than in the same month of the previous year. Year-to-date, the total volume reached 147,013 tons, representing a 46.6% increase compared to 2014. Europe, the United States, and Canada remain the main destinations for Colombian avocados, which are now the country's third most exported fruit.

According to Katheryn Mejía, CEO of Corpohass, behind every ton shipped is “the effort of hundreds of producers who make Colombia a land of quality.” She emphasized that the world values both the flavor of Colombian avocados and their continuous production capacity, supported by social, environmental, and technical responsibility. Among the factors that explain their success are the quality of the soil, its natural drainage, its mineral richness, and the country's strategic location, which allows for rapid shipments to key markets.

The sector's growth model is based on sustainability as its central pillar. Through Sustainable Production Chains, collaboration is promoted among producers, packers, and exporters to improve productivity and rural well-being. This approach seeks to balance the economic, social, and environmental dimensions, building a more resilient and competitive sector. In this context, Corpohass and Agrilink will hold the seventh edition of Territorio Aguacate, the leading event for the Latin American Hass avocado industry, on November 5th and 6th in Medellín. Experts, business leaders, and producers will gather to discuss innovation and the new challenges of the global market.
