Colombia finishes the Flor Traviesa harvest and prepares for the new avocado season

The latest #Avobook report, to be published this Saturday, August 10, shows revealing data on market behavior and avocado exports from Colombia during 2024.

The chart for weekly avocado shipments breaks down destinations by region, including Europe, Canada, Asia, the United States, and Latin America.

The chart also reveals that Colombia is finishing its avocado harvest, resulting in a significant decrease in shipments in the coming weeks. This pattern is consistent with the seasonality of avocado cultivation, where exports tend to decline before the start of the new harvest season.

Furthermore, it is noted that this year's exports of the mischievous flower significantly exceeded those of 2023, reflecting an increase in production and international market demand.

The new harvest season is expected to begin in late September, October, or November, depending on dry matter conditions. Expectations are high for the quality and volume of the upcoming main harvest.

This data will be analyzed in greater depth in the next report, which will be published this Saturday, corresponding to week 32. The report will include a detailed analysis by market, projections for the rest of the year, and specific recommendations for Colombian exporters.
