Chile reduces its shipments by 18% in week 44 and concentrates two-thirds in Europe

Chilean avocado shipments ended week 44 with an estimated 368,000, 18% less than in week 43 and 4% below the volume recorded in the same week last year. This trend confirms a gradual slowdown: since week 41, the flow has been decreasing week by week, suggesting that the high-volume peaks observed recently will not be repeated.

The distribution by destination keeps Europe at the heart of the program, accounting for around two-thirds of the total. Latin America follows with 16%, and Asia with 13%, where China accounts for a significant portion of the demand.

The United States appears as a marginal market: shipments are at very low levels —between 1% and 5% depending on the weekly variation—, reflecting a preference for consolidating the campaign in places where the turnover has been more favorable.
