Chilean exports rebound with a 33% increase, and Europe once again consolidates its position as the main destination.
Avocado exports from Chile saw a significant decline at the close of week 49, reaching 200 shipments, a 29% drop compared to the previous week. Despite this decrease, the volume remains 9% higher than the level recorded during the same period last year, reflecting that, although activity slows towards the end of the year, it continues to exceed the pace of the previous season.
The distribution by destination shows a clear predominance of Europe, which accounted for 50% of shipments. Latin America positioned itself as the second most important market, with 35%, while Asia absorbed 10% and the United States 4%. This structure reaffirms the diversification that Chile has maintained during the campaign, although with a marked weight of the European market.
Weekly trends show a readjustment following the previous surge. The previous week was marked by a significant increase in shipments, but the curve is now resuming a downward trend.
With 200 containers, Chile has returned to levels similar to those of week 47, which was already one of the lowest in a prolonged period. All indications are that the volume could continue to decline in the remaining weeks of the year.
