Chile accelerates avocado shipments, although it remains below 2024 levels.
The Chilean avocado season is starting to pick up speed. An estimated 69 containers were shipped in week 34, tripling the 23 shipped the previous week. However, the volume is still 36% lower than that recorded during the same week in 2024, reflecting a more moderate start than last year.
In terms of destinations, Chilean fruit went primarily to Latin America, which absorbed 55% of shipments. Europe received 44%, and Asia just 2%. Considering the season's cumulative total—which is still only a few weeks old—the trend is clear: almost two-thirds of the fruit has been shipped to Latin America, while Europe has received 30% and China nearly 4%.
Although the export curve remains below last season's levels, the pace observed so far is similar. The challenge will be to see if the current campaign can match or even surpass the previous one in the coming weeks. The first Chilean containers will soon begin arriving in Europe and China, allowing for a clearer assessment of this new season's performance.
