Avobook is present at Fruit Attraction 2025, the most important fruit and vegetable trade fair in Madrid

From Tuesday, September 30th to October 2nd, Madrid is once again the global epicenter of the fruit and vegetable industry with a record-breaking edition of Fruit Attraction, boasting significant growth compared to previous years. Organized by IFEMA Madrid and FEPEX, the trade fair has expanded its exhibition space to 78,000 square meters across ten pavilions, including, for the first time, a dedicated pavilion for the Americas and another for Africa. This expansion reflects the increased international participation and solidifies the event's position as one of the most important in the sector worldwide.

The fair brings together more than 2,460 companies from 64 countries and expects to welcome 120,000 professionals from 150 different markets, in a space where producers, exporters, importers, distribution chains, and technology companies converge. The avocado sector has had a particularly strong presence, with a significant role played by both Spanish and international companies.

In this scenario, Fruit Attraction is consolidating itself as a key meeting point where European buyers and sellers from America and Africa strengthen commercial ties, review seasons that are ending, such as that of Peru, and open negotiations for those that are just beginning, such as those of Chile and Colombia.

The Avobook team, led by CEO Sebastián de la Cuadra, actively participated in the trade show, solidifying the platform's role as a strategic benchmark for the industry. During the first day, meetings were held with key players from various markets. Among these, the dialogue with Pedro Jaramillo, CEO of Baika Internacional, and Andrés Carvallo, partner and board member of the company, stood out, strengthening valuable alliances for the benefit of the sector. A meeting was also held with Gustavo Yentzen, director of Portal Frutícola, who shared updates on the upcoming Avocado Summit in Chile.

Furthermore, ties were strengthened with key representatives of the European and Latin American industry. Figures such as Víctor Ruete, from Tropical Millenium, and Cristóbal Iglesis, from El Parque (Chile), reaffirmed their support as sponsors; while Omar Díaz, from Westfalia, and José Antonio Castro, president of ProHass, highlighted Avobook's role as an information tool for the sector. A productive exchange also took place with Katheryn Mejía, executive president of Corpohass in Colombia, who was interested in accessing specific information on processed product exports, and with executives from leading companies such as Camposol (Peru).

Avobook's editorial presence was also notable in this edition. Santiago Pinto, Carlos Ocaña, Jorge Molina, and Alfredo Lira, all columnists for the platform, actively participated in conversations with industry stakeholders. Pinto shared his perspective on the Ecuadorian market; Ocaña analyzed the dynamics in Europe; Molina offered his insights on international trade flows; and Lira shared his experience related to Peruvian production. These contributions reinforce Avobook's mission to provide expert and diverse analysis to the industry.

In addition, formal greetings and conversations took place with prominent figures who actively collaborate with Avobook. Julio Sahagun, former president of APEAM in Mexico, highlighted how the platform has become a valuable tool for the Mexican market. Cristian Hargous, general manager of Propal, along with Ricardo Mejía, general manager of Fruty Green in Colombia, and María Isabel Gaviria, general manager of Coltropicos (Colombia), expressed their support and praised Avobook's role as a bridge for information and analysis within the sector.

As the participants themselves emphasized, Fruit Attraction is not only a showcase of innovation and fresh produce, but also a major meeting point that allows European buyers and sellers from diverse origins—primarily from the Americas and Africa—to advance their business dealings. These meetings facilitate both the closing of recently concluded seasons, such as Peru's, and the launch of new seasons, as in the case of Chile and Colombia. The first day's results have been highly positive, and although two days remain, key insights into market dynamics are already emerging.

With this deployment, Avobook reinforces its commitment to adding value to the fruit and vegetable industry, generating spaces for analysis and collaboration in a context where strategic information is key to decision-making.

The first day of Fruit Attraction 2025 has been overwhelmingly positive. The trade fair has already confirmed its role as one of the most dynamic platforms for the international trade of fruit and vegetables and as a stage where trends and business deals that will shape the future of the sector are being forged.
