Avocado imports to Europe increase slightly, with a strong presence from Peru and growth from South Africa.

During week 30, the European avocado market saw the arrival of approximately 1,000 containers, representing a 2% increase compared to the previous week. This volume remains significantly higher than that recorded during the same period last year, confirming a strong and sustained supply.

Peru continues to consolidate its leadership as the continent's main supplier, capturing 78% of the total market. Colombia and South Africa follow with 7% each, while Kenya and Tanzania together account for another 8%. The overall volume of shipments did not show substantial changes compared to the previous week, although South Africa stands out, increasing its shipments from 50 to 71 containers.

Regarding prices, different trends were observed between the Netherlands and Spain. In the Netherlands, there were widespread price decreases across all calibers. The 18-gauge, one of the most popular, fell by 8%, while the 32-gauge, the smallest, saw a 7% drop.

Spain, on the other hand, showed mixed results. Size 18 saw a 15% increase, indicating stronger demand for larger fruit. However, size 32 also experienced an 8% drop, in line with the trend observed in other markets.
