Anuga 2025: the global agribusiness sector meets in Cologne with Latin American presence
From October 4 to 8, 2025, Cologne, Germany, will host another edition of Anuga, the world's leading trade fair for the food and agricultural industries. With its renowned "ten trade fairs in one" format, the event offers a comprehensive overview of the industry's key sectors, from frozen and convenience foods to ingredients, organic products, protein alternatives, and fine foods.
This year, Anuga 2025 focuses on innovation, sustainability, and the diversification of processed products such as canned goods, frozen foods, pulps, and dehydrated products—segments that are gaining importance due to the demand for healthy, high-value-added foods. With more than 7,900 exhibitors from over one hundred countries and a projected 140,000 trade visitors, the fair is once again establishing itself as the essential meeting point for producers, exporters, distributors, and buyers from around the world.
This year's program stands out for its strong focus on new consumption and production trends. The central themes revolve around concepts such as Clean Label, Private Label, Halal, and Premium Products, addressing the need to reformulate products, adopt sustainable packaging, strengthen traceability, and optimize industrial processes.
In addition to the trade exhibition, the fair includes a robust program of conferences and thematic forums. Highlights include the Anuga Halal Forum, the International Frozen Food Conference, and the Tomato News Conference, which bring together leading experts and companies to discuss the future of processing, cold chain logistics, and preservation technologies.
The event also promotes the Taste Innovation Show, a space dedicated to awarding the most innovative proposals in the industry, reinforcing Anuga's vision as an engine of development and competitiveness for the global agribusiness.

Avocomex and Juancamole from Colombia: a prominent Latin American presence
Latin America had a significant presence at Anuga 2025, reflecting the growth and professionalization of the region's agribusiness sector. Among the participating companies, Avocomex was present with a booth that attracted the attention of international buyers interested in the potential of avocados and their derivatives.
The company had the participation of Eduardo González, partner of Avocomex and columnist for Avobook, who took part in various meetings and encounters with distributors, importers and representatives of the industry, promoting the quality and international projection of Latin American products.
Also noteworthy was the presence of Juan Fernando Hoyos and Juan David Castaño, partners of Juancamole de Colombia, who traveled to Germany to participate in the meeting and strengthen the company's position in European markets.
“Being here is another way to showcase our country, to show what we are doing with avocados, to show it in a different way to other markets that perhaps the fresh ones cannot reach,” said Juan David Castaño, partner of Juancamole de Colombia.
The businessman also emphasized the responsibility of the processing sector in maintaining the good reputation of Colombian avocados globally. “The invitation is also for us, as avocado growers worldwide, to unite to uphold the good name of the avocado and, above all, to ensure that Colombian avocados are well-recognized,” he added.
With South Korea as the guest of honor, Anuga 2025 reinforces its global and multicultural character, bringing together offerings from around the world under one roof. The fair is establishing itself as a strategic platform for companies seeking to expand their exports, discover technological innovations, and project their brands in increasingly demanding international markets.
For the Latin American agribusiness sector, participation in these types of events is key to advancing product diversification and accessing higher value segments.
Anuga 2025 is not just a trade show, but also a barometer of future food trends. The focus on cleaner, more sustainable, and higher-quality processed products confirms that the world is looking towards an increasingly conscious, modern, and connected agribusiness.
