Small-sized avocados have been declining for 5 weeks in Europe
Europe records 1,144 shipments in week 18, with Peru as the main supplier and a sustained drop in prices for small sizes.
The European avocado market closed week 18 with approximately 1,144 shipments arriving, representing a 9% drop compared to the previous week and a volume just 3% lower than that recorded in the same period of 2025. Despite the weekly adjustment, the level of arrivals remains high for this time of year, and projections indicate that the coming weeks will maintain figures close to 1,100 shipments.

Peru consolidated its position as the continent's leading supplier with a 56% market share, followed by South Africa with 18% and Brazil with 13%. Further behind were Colombia with 5%, Kenya and Tanzania with 4%, Spain with 3%, and Mexico with less than 1%, confirming South America's dominance in the current supply.
In terms of prices, Rotterdam continues to show considerably higher values than Spain, although Peruvian sizes are registering declines across almost the entire range, especially in the larger sizes. Smaller sizes are also maintaining a downward trend and have now accumulated nearly five consecutive weeks of decline. In Spain, on the other hand, prices remain lower, but with greater stability and without significant variations in recent weeks.
Gabriel Katkovčin noted that, from a price perspective, there are still no signs of a drastic drop, although pressure on smaller sizes is already evident, especially when higher volumes coincide with average-quality fruit. He also indicated that a slight decrease in Hass avocado prices is expected in Europe over the next three weeks, mainly affecting sizes 24 to 30, while larger sizes should remain more stable.
