Europe's imports rise 39%, while large calibers decline
Peru accounted for 65% of the European market, while large sizes continue to register declines in Spain and Rotterdam.
Europe recorded its highest volume of avocado imports so far in 2026 during week 21, reaching 1,319 shipments. This figure represents a 7.6% increase compared to the previous week and a 39% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Peru maintained its market leadership with approximately 65% share, followed by South Africa with approximately 16% and Brazil with 8%.
Regarding prices, larger sizes continue to decline in both Spain and Rotterdam. In Algeciras, large sizes have been falling for nearly four consecutive weeks, while smaller sizes have remained more stable. A similar trend is observed in Rotterdam, with decreases in large sizes and greater stability in smaller sizes.
Victor Rubete's opinion columns supported this scenario. The analyst pointed out that the European Hass avocado market is experiencing one of the most intense periods of the season and warned that large sizes, which weeks ago maintained high prices due to scarcity, are now showing signs of saturation and significant price drops.
