Europe receives 1,249 containers and Peru accounts for 66% of the market

Imports are growing compared to 2025, while large sizes are beginning to lose value due to greater fruit availability.

Europe remains the primary destination for Peruvian avocados. During week 22, the market received 1,249 containers, a lower figure than the previous week, but significantly higher than the same period last year. Peru reinforced its leading position, accounting for 66% of arrivals, followed by Kenya, South Africa, Brazil, and Colombia.

In terms of prices, the market showed different behaviors depending on origin and caliber. In Rotterdam, caliber 18 recovered after several weeks of declines, while in the Netherlands prices generally increased, although with increasingly smaller differences between sizes. In Spain, specifically in Algeciras, larger calibers continued to fall in price, while smaller calibers remained stable.

This scenario confirms the trend anticipated by Víctor Ruete in his market analysis. While weeks ago large fruit sizes were notable for their scarcity and sustained high prices, today they show signs of saturation and continue to lose value due to increased fruit availability. The price evolution thus reflects a market that is beginning to find a new equilibrium between supply and demand.
