Chinese avocado market

China receives 6 shipments of avocados and prices fall 19%

A sharp weekly drop in arrivals contrasts with an average of nearly 70 shipments, while prices are falling but remain above historical levels.

The Chinese avocado market exhibited atypical behavior in week 17, marked by a sharp drop in arrivals. Only six shipments were recorded, significantly lower than the nearly 200 that arrived the previous week, skewing direct week-to-week comparisons. However, when considering the average of the last three weeks, the flow stabilizes at around 70 shipments per week.

The supply continues to depend exclusively on Peru, a trend that is projected to remain unchanged in the short term, consolidating its role as the dominant supplier in this destination.

Meanwhile, the most significant adjustment was observed in prices. The market registered an average drop of 19% in values, mirroring a trend seen in previous seasons during this same period. Even so, price levels remain above historical averages, more than double the values observed during the same week in 2025, when a significant decline also occurred.
