Record harvest: How will it affect prices?

Mexico

Last week, 38,932 tons were harvested for the U.S. market, of which 35,263 tons were exported, representing a 90% utilization rate. So far, the total harvest is 812,856 tons, with 703,189 tons exported to the United States, 17% more than last season.

This week, a harvest of 35,000 tons is expected, with shipments of around 30,000 tons to the US market. The number of hectares available for planting is 46,360, a 5% decrease compared to last week.

Every week we continue to see record volumes, and according to estimates, the 2025-2026 season could be the largest harvest and export since the US market program began.

Prices remain low. We'll see what the reaction is after the Super Bowl, which historically marks the start of an upward trend with California's entry into the market.

One factor affecting export performance is the dollar-peso exchange rate, with a weak dollar. We hope that the situation regarding export earnings will improve in the short term.

Have a great week.
