Peru increases avocado shipments and strengthens its leadership in Europe
Week 17 ended with 1,245 shipments from Peru, a 35% weekly increase, with Europe as the main destination for the fruit.
Avocado exports from Peru closed week 17 with 1,245 shipments, reflecting a 35% increase compared to the previous week and a 29% year-on-year growth compared to the same period in 2025. The progress confirms a more dynamic season and a significant difference compared to the volumes recorded last year.

Europe remained the main destination for Peruvian fruit, accounting for 63% of shipments, followed by Asia with 21% and Chile with 13%, while the remaining markets represented 3%. This distribution reaffirms the importance of the European continent as the main recipient of Peruvian avocados at this stage of the season.
In terms of weekly market share within Europe, Peru reached 56% in week 18, solidifying its position as the continent's leading supplier. While this isn't the peak of the season—it reached 58% in week 16—projections indicate that the country will maintain a market share exceeding half for several weeks.
Despite current growth, volumes have not yet reached the peak of the previous season, which occurred around week 22, when shipments exceeded 1,500. Performance in the coming weeks will be key to determining whether this season surpasses that level.
