End of season with price pressure

Mexico

Last week, 23,769 tons were harvested, of which 21,491 were exported to the United States market, representing a 90% utilization rate. This week's harvest is estimated at approximately 20,000 tons.

The available acreage decreased by 11% compared to the previous week, settling at 19,780 hectares. The estimated remaining crop is around 150,000 tons, some of which will be harvested next season. The supply, concentrated in the hands of a few, caused a rapid increase in farmgate prices, a trend that continues with upward pressure.

The season is entering its final phase, and the start of the new fruit harvest is just weeks away. The entry of Peruvian and Colombian fruit has been delayed due to the competitiveness of Mexican prices; however, with the current upturn, it will be crucial to observe how buyers in the United States react and whether this opens up space for other origins.

I wish you all an excellent week.
