Mexico accounts for 96% of avocado exports to the US

Mexico

Last week, 40,624 tons were harvested, maintaining record volumes. Supply is very abundant, and 34,440 tons were exported, representing an 85% utilization rate.

To date, the season has accumulated 1 million tons harvested, and there is still a good amount of fruit in the field, which anticipates a very favorable season in terms of volume.

This week's harvest estimate remains at around 40,000 tons. It's worth noting that Monday, March 16th, is a holiday in Mexico, so there will be no work.

Mexico remains virtually the sole supplier to the market, accounting for 96% of imports. California has not yet begun exporting, although it is expected to increase its presence by mid-March.

Consumption continues to show dynamism: February saw a 15% increase compared to last year. The expectation is that, despite the record volume still being shipped, the market will remain stable and inventories will not increase significantly.

Have a great week everyone.
