The supply of fruit is decreasing, but prices remain high.

Mexico

Week 5 of the avocado program in Mexico has been intense, with a harvest of 26,747 tons and exports of 24,835 tons, representing 93% of total production. It is important to note that this week, due to the Monday holiday, there was no harvesting or packing, which affected exports.

Demand has decreased slightly because all the fruit that will be sold for the Super Bowl has been supplied, which is reflected in an estimated export of around 15,000 tons for this week.

The available fruit supply is lower, with 47,258 hectares, representing a 13% decrease compared to last week. Of the total estimated 1,329,575 tons, 718,591 tons have been harvested, leaving a balance of 604,984 tons to be harvested.

It's important to note that, although the tonnage exported is similar to last season, prices are much higher this season. However, there are still five months left in the season, and we're likely to face many challenges along the way.

This week has been busy, with a significant harvest and export volume. However, demand has decreased slightly, and the available fruit supply is lower. It is important to monitor changes in supply and demand in the coming weeks.

Excellent week for everyone!
