Analysis of the avocado harvest in Mexico

Mexico

Last week, Mexico harvested 18,349 tons of avocados, with a 76% yield and 13,913 tons exported. The season's total is 1,095,431 tons, 8% less than last season. A reduction in the harvest is expected this week due to lower market demand and competition from other countries.

The reduction in Mexican avocado exports is partly due to weather events that have affected orchard productivity. Mexico's market share has fallen to 57% due to competition from other countries. The hectares available for harvest this week have decreased by 10% compared to last week.

Although it's too early to determine the volume for the next season, it's expected to be larger than the one we're just finishing. The trend is positive, and Mexican avocado exports are expected to grow in the 2025-2026 season.

The 2024-2025 season has underperformed, but the next season is expected to be more promising.

I wish you an excellent week.
