Mexico: Stability prevails in a low-price market

Mexico

Last week Mexico harvested 28,187 tons of avocados and exported 25,091 tons, with a utilization rate of 90%.

This week, the harvest pace has increased to ensure sufficient stocks for the final weeks of December. Production is estimated at approximately 34,000 tons.

The supply of available hectares stands at 37,626, representing a 2.7% decrease compared to the previous week. Even so, the fruit supply remains strong and market conditions remain stable.

As for calibers, the situation also remains unchanged: .48 calibers continue to predominate, followed by .60 calibers.

Looking ahead to January, all indications point to continued stability. However, starting in the second week, the market could see significant increases in the harvest, driven by Super Bowl demand.

Meanwhile, Mexico's alternative markets maintain stable volumes. Canada consolidates its position as the second most important export destination.

I wish you an excellent week.
