Peru is preparing to be the epicenter of the avocado industry at the VII Latin American Congress
The avocado industry in Latin America is gearing up for a key meeting in Peru. From November 17 to 20, 2025, the Andean country will host the VII Latin American Avocado Congress, an event organized by ProHass that promises to bring together more than 1,200 experts, producers, exporters, and professionals from the sector worldwide.
The congress, which aims to strengthen the avocado industry globally, will focus on innovation and sustainability as fundamental pillars for the future of the crop. Attendees will be able to explore a wide range of crucial topics for the sector, structured around seven main thematic areas:
The congress will dedicate significant time to analyzing global market trends, exploring strategies for promoting and positioning avocados, as well as opportunities for opening new international markets. It will also showcase innovative tools and technologies designed to improve the efficiency and sustainability of avocado cultivation, enabling producers to optimize their processes.

Regarding crop management, practices and strategies aimed at maximizing production will be addressed, with an emphasis on advanced irrigation, fertilization, and pruning techniques. The conservation, improvement, and sustainable use of varieties and rootstocks will be another key point of discussion, with particular attention to their adaptation to different climatic and soil conditions.
The event will also delve into strategies for ensuring crop health and product safety, guaranteeing compliance with international food quality and safety standards. Post-harvest handling will play a key role on the agenda, with a focus on innovations and advanced techniques in storage, transport, and handling, aimed at preserving fruit quality and reducing losses in the supply chain.
Finally, sustainability will be a cross-cutting theme in all discussions. Responsible agricultural practices that minimize environmental impact and foster economic and social sustainability will be promoted, ensuring that the sector's growth goes hand in hand with the care of natural resources and the well-being of farming communities.

The congress's scientific committee is headed by Walter Apaza, an agronomist with a master's degree in Phytopathology and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Agriculture, whose track record and experience guarantee the academic and technical quality of the event. Alongside him, more than a dozen leading professionals and experts in agronomy from across Latin America will contribute their knowledge in the various areas of the sector, ensuring a high-level program for attendees.
