Morocco closes an exceptional avocado season with 30-40 thousand tons ready for export.
Morocco
The avocado season in Morocco is entering its final phase with approximately 30,000 to 40,000 tons remaining for export. Although prices have been below average for this time of year, the overall balance remains positive due to the exceptional production achieved this season.
The stability of the market is due, in part, to the caution with which commercial actors await the reaction of consumers after the arrival of fruit from Peru and Colombia.
Despite this uncertainty, the outlook in Morocco remains calm in terms of exports and prices, with operators such as Mavoca and other exporting companies functioning at full capacity.
A key factor to consider is the development of young trees in Morocco, some of which have reached high levels of dry matter, which improves fruit quality and strengthens the Moroccan supply in international markets.
Although volumes and prices have not reached last year's levels, the 2024/2025 campaign has proven to be outstanding in terms of overall figures, balancing the sector's expectations.
In approximately a month and a half, Morocco will conclude a season that, despite the challenges, has consolidated its position in the competitive global avocado market.
