Mexico exports 1,245 shipments of avocados to the United States

Mexico

In week 45, Mexico exported 1,245 shipments to the United States market. The total tonnage exported this season (starting in July) is 14% higher compared to last year. Considering all origins, this is already the year in which the market has received the highest volume, with a 10% increase compared to last year. The trend is for volumes to remain constant in the coming weeks and even increase by December, as November is not generally considered a good month for avocados.

The season continues to present significant challenges for the Mexican industry. Prices offered to producers remain below acceptable levels, and market prices are also below what exporters would like to achieve adequate profitability for their businesses.

Demand for Mexican fruit has been growing, although export volume in week 45 was lower than in week 44, it remains at a good level. Consumption has held steady at around 23,000 tons per week, which has contributed to some price stability, although there continue to be fluctuations in certain sizes, as was the case with large fruit in sizes 32s and 36s, which saw a significant price reduction over the weekend.
