Peru reduces its exports by 50% weekly, but maintains 244% more than in 2024

The behavior of the main avocado markets shows a week of slight adjustments, but with volumes still well above those of 2024.

In the United States, at the close of week 40, 1,585 shipments were recorded, 3% fewer than the previous week, but 29% more than last year. Mexico maintained its leading position with an 89% share, followed by California (6%) and Peru (3%), while Chile made its first appearance with 1%. Prices remained firm, with increases of up to 5% for larger sizes.

In Europe, arrivals reached 982 containers, 5% less than the previous week, but 60% more than in 2024. Peru reduced its share to below 50%, while Chile advanced to 24% of the market, and prices showed corrections, especially in sizes 18 and 32.

In China, activity was limited, with only one container from Peru.

Finally, Peru exported 148 containers in week 40, 50% less than the previous week, although 244% more than last year, marking the gradual closure of its season.
